Mingw build type

Hi.

Seems like something changed recently in Craft mingw builds ( between 15th and 16th of july). Looks like the installer version is build from the debug build and not the stripped build. It means users niw get versions that are several Gb when uncompressed.

Mixing compilers

Hi!

I'll try to break my earlier question about building rkward frontend /
backend with different compilers into (hopefully) more managable
chunks. The basic idea is still that we might build our frontend
process using MSVC (and will be able to use QWebEngine), and the
backend process using MinGW (in order to solve compatibility
nightmares). Questions:

Are there any others servers that I could try ?

Re-add rkward build to binary factory

Hi!

I know I've been neglecting these matters for a long while, now, but I
don't recall any notice of impending removal either. So: Whatever
happened to the RKWard mingw64 nightly? Can we have it back, please? Or
what action is expected on our side?

KStars release build fails due to libjasper error

Hello,

We just released KStars 3.2.0 but the binary factory fails to build it:

<a href="https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/KStars_Release_win32/236/console" title="https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/KStars_Release_win32/236/console">https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/KStars_Release_win32/236/console</a>

It says libjasper error which is used by Craft I take it? Not sure what's
causing this. Any idea?

State and plans for LibSnoreToast

Hi Hannah (+ KDE on Windows mailing list),

We would like to have a GSOC project this year to improve KDE Connect
on Windows. One of the main items for this GSOC is to integrate with
Windows' notifications API.

Since you have been working on it via SnoreToast and LibSnoreToast, I
would like to get a few pointers on what to do from you.

From what I know, using the Windows notifications API is not that
simple: your app needs to be installed with a shortcut in the Start
Menu for it to work.

Modifying source

Supposing that someday I am able to build kdiff3 on Windows and I want to modify the source and rebuild, how do I do that?

I have a couple of concerns. The first is that if I say craft kdiff3 the source will be refetched from the internet, so my changes would be irrelevant.

Second, I did cs gperf for a package that seemed to have been built correctly. The commmand changed to a directory, but the directory was empty.
cb gperf attempted to change to a subdirectory of the one from cs; since it was empty, this failed.

Craft recipes with more than one target

Hi Hannah,

I have a question about whether craft is capable of doing something. In my quest to build Mac craft recipes for building KStars, I have made a number of recipes. One set of them though, seems a little silly. I had to make one recipe for building indiserver, one for making indiserver 3rdParty, and one for each of the Indi driver libraries (there are 10 of them) which are dependencies of the indiserver 3rdParty build. Each recipe is fairly easy to write since they are almost identical.

QT version not supported on older systems

Hi Hannah,

I ran into an issue when trying to build a dmg for KStars last week. I build it on a 10.11 El Capitan machine because it is a bit older and the packages that are built on that will work on 10.11 - 10.14 machines. Until we can finish the recipes that I was writing over the last couple of months to get craft totally building KStars’s required programs for Mac, we still rely on home-brew for a bunch of it. So for now, I cannot build those dependencies on a newer machine or we will be giving up all support for older machines.

Craft 2018.12

Hi everyone,

As you might have seen I'm trying to prepare Qt 5.12.0 on Craft master.
Things are quite unstable so I created a 2018.12 branch.
The cache and the binaryfactory builds are all based on that branch.
So if you want to be productive use that branch, if you want to fix stuff for binaryfactory, use that branch.

I know that stable branches never worked perfectly with Craft but I try to keep things a stable as I can manage.

Issues with notifications on KDE Connect

Hello everyone! First time posting here. I'm currently testing KDE
Connect on Windows and so far it works well, with two exceptions. File
transfers don't quite work, neither on Windows nor on my Archlinux
partition. And notifications do work but with certain caveats, namely
that they get displayed for only a pair of seconds, are not stored
anywhere due to lack of integration with Windows' notifications, and
most importantly don't display their contents or allow interacting in
any other way but dismissing them by a click.

A couple of questions

Hi Hannah,

First, thank you for your help last week. I fixed a few problems with my recipes where things changed since I worked on it this summer and now just about everything works again. Last summer I was at the point where there were just 3 things that I needed to install with homebrew to get KStars to fully build for Mac in craft. They included gpsd, fftw, and boost. After I did a little work this week, I think the recipes are back to that point again.

Binary-Factory and download links

Hi,

if we e.g. want to link to the lastest produced binary packages
from the binary factory for Kate (nightly and release), what is the right
way to do that?

Is there some download.kde.org place were the last sucessfull builds are kept
some days for public consumption? I assume one should not link the latest successful
build pages like

<a href="https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/Windows%2064-bit/job/Kate_Release_win64/" title="https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/Windows%2064-bit/job/Kate_Release_win64/">https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/Windows%2064-bit/job/Kate_Release_wi...</a>

to the user, or?

Greetings
Christoph

Build error for boost-regex on Mac

Hi Hannah and KDE windows,

I’m getting this build error when I try to install boost-regex using the standard blueprints in craft on Mac,

fatal error: 'cstddef' file not found"
/Users/rlancaste/AstroRoot/kstars-craft/bin/bjam: b'# include <cstddef>'
/Users/rlancaste/AstroRoot/kstars-craft/bin/bjam: b' ^~~~~~~~~'
/Users/rlancaste/AstroRoot/kstars-craft/bin/bjam: b'1 error generated.'

I’m fairly sure that this file is already on my system, so I think it is a linking or blueprint error with craft.

Any ideas,

Thanks,

Rob

rpath issues

Hi Hannah,

I was working for a long time today with getting Qt to build in craft on my Mac and getting everything required for KStars to build properly on top of that since you told me I shouldn’t be using ~/Qt/5.11.1. The issue really comes down to one thing: @rpath.

Phonon not building in craft now

Hi Hannah,

I’m not sure what happened, but there seems to be an issue with the phonon installation in craft now. Without phonon, Kf5nofitications cannot build. From the log it looks like a path issue that results in a file not found error. Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Rob

Craft KDE Connect install

Hi!

I'm attempting to install kdeconnect via craft on a Windows computer and so
I did
:

craft --add-blueprint-repository <a href="https://github.com/KDE/kdeconnect-kde.git" title="https://github.com/KDE/kdeconnect-kde.git">https://github.com/KDE/kdeconnect-kde.git</a>
craft kdeconnect

which results in a message like
:

Found an dead branch in
C:/CraftRoot/etc/blueprints/locations/kdeconnect-kde/app/qml. ...
nautilus-extension failed: Recipes must match the name of the directory:
C:\CraftRoot\etc\blueprints\locations\kdeconnect-kde\nautilus-extension\kdeconnect-share.py

Is this something you could help me with?

craft not finding installed utilities

For example, I know craft has grep and ninja installed, if nothing else
by looking at the output of "craft --print-installed" but invoking
either of them on the command line fails with a "the term is not
recognized..." error. I'm pretty sure things were working fine the
last time I did anything a few weeks ago. Today I tried "craft
kmymoney" and it upgraded numerous packages, and then failed on one,
claiming it couldn't find Ninja.

Has something changed recently requiring some change to my
configuration?

Craft kde/frameworks

Hi,

I'm trying to compile frameworks using craft, but I've encountered some
interesting situation, see this picture:

I get the same message if I try to compile separately
python-modules/doxyqml. I have Python2.7 set in
CraftRoot/etc/CraftSettings.ini

If you've already encountered this issue please share your thoughts on this.

Kind regards,

Fabian Kristof
