Looks like the problem is with fedora updates source repository metadata.
I've downloaded metalink from URL
<a href="https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=updates-released-source-f29&amp;arch=x86_64" title="https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=updates-released-source-f29&amp;arch=x86_64">https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=updates-released-source-...</a>
I checked a few mirrors from the list and the content of primary metadata
file is somewhat unsatisfying (basically it is empty):

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<metadata xmlns="http://linux.duke.edu/metadata/common" xmlns:rpm="
http://linux.duke.edu/metadata/rpm" packages="0">
</metadata>

Should a bug report be filed, and if so where?
