Failure to emerge kdepimlibs

Hi,

before diving into the emerge dependency-stuff, I'm wondering wether
anybody else hit a problem when trying to emerge kdepimlibs? In
particular its complaining about missing akonadi server libraries.
This is using the KDE/4.9 branch and running emerge akonadi does not
do anything (presumably because its already installed).

Problems using emerge with TCC/LE

Hi,

thought I'd start another try at doing some KDevelop hacking on
windows and setup emerge today. I had some trouble doing so since I'm
not using cmd.exe as shell, I'm using TCC/LE from
<a href="http://jpsoft.com/tccle-cmd-replacement.html" title="http://jpsoft.com/tccle-cmd-replacement.html">http://jpsoft.com/tccle-cmd-replacement.html</a>. I was about to post
reviewboard requests before pushing anything anywhere but noticed that
there's no kde-win group, so I wasn't sure who to include these days.

Basically I had three problems:

1. %comspec% is not surrounded with quotes so if the command
interpreter is in a path with spaces, this fails to execute. Line 202
of kdeenv.bat

2.

KPushButton::setIcon(QIcon) broken?

Hi,

before filing a bugreport against kdelibs, I'm wondering wether I may
be missing something on this. The following code compiles, but does
not generate a KPushButton with an icon, the icon is empty. Forcing
the KIcon overload to be taken fixes that, but that does not work with
designer-generated content.

Request for Review: Move kdev-custom-buildsystem into kdevelop

Hi,

the custom buildsystem plugin for KDevelop/KDevPlatform has been
started off as a separate project since I didn't want to be tied to
the kdevelop schedule for releases. Unfortunately my lack of time make
it cumbersome to follow up on API changes in the plugin myself and it
seems like having it separate also hinders its packaging and wider
usage.

Hence I plan to move the plugin into kdevelop in two weeks from now.
I'd welcome any feedback on the current codebase.

Re: kdevelop crashes after consuming only 200M memory

Hi,

Hi,

I've started to build and try to use kdevelop on windows. Unfortunately it
crashes soon after having opened my project or upon startup. The backtrace
suggests a QVector::reserve() call in the C++ parser, which in turn hints
towards exhausting of memory (it throws a qBadAlloc exception).

However according to my process-monitor I still have plenty of standby
memory available (free is indeed only about 200M). Since I'm not an expert
in this stuff, does anybody know of a possible reason why the
memory-allocation would fail even if there's tons of standby-memory?

kdex.dtd.install instead of kdex.dtd

Hi,

I've used the installer-packages to setup an environment to build KDE apps.
Apart from some sed'ing necessary to replace build-time paths (n:/) with my
actual installation place, I've also noticed that the kdex.dtd file is
missing. Or rather its there, but named kdex.dtd.install and hence not
found by meinproc4. I assume thats not intentional is it?

Let me know if you'd rather prefer a formal bugreport about this.

Use devel-package to build KDE apps from source?

Hi,

I'm wondering wether it should be possible to install the Devel packages
from kde-win-installer and use the installed stuff to build KDE apps from
source?

Or does emerge these days support installing a complete KDE development
environment without compiling anything?

Review Request 101486 (Q/KComboBox related KConfigDialogManager change) breaks apps

Hi,

just came around to notice this now, but the mentioned code-change from
the review request: <a href="https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/101486/" title="https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/101486/">https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/101486/</a>
actually does break apps. In particular it breaks kdevelop. We have a
KComboBox subclass which actually wants to store a custom
string-property into the kconfig file and not an index. At the same time
the combobox is not editable, but the strings are user-supplied (in a
separate widget somewhere else).

Merge or Cherry-Pick?

Hi,

something that hasn't been written down as far as I can see (if I
overlooked it, please point me to it) is what the policy on kdelibs is
to be now wrt. merging vs. cherry-picking of changes in branches and
master?
