HDF5 upgrade?

Hi all.

As co-maintainer of 'hdf5', i worked since some days on upgrade of this
package. It's currently on stable repositories with the release 1.8.12,
new release will be the 1.10.1
(<a href="https://support.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/docNewFeatures/" title="https://support.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/docNewFeatures/">https://support.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/docNewFeatures/</a>).

Any objection about?

Changes in hdf5-1.10.1:

1. Compilation process now is entrusted to CMake
2. Fortran libraries split off in their own sub-packages
3. 'szip' support enabled
4. Tests enabled but unfortunately some of them look can't be correctly
started or finished on 'koji' (they are passed with Mock).

Skip tests with CTest

Hi all.

How i can skip multiple tests with CTest?

For example, i can skip tests matching regular expression with '-E'
option but if regular expression is more than one?

'ctest -V -E Python' <--- works
'ctest -V -E Python Star' <--- does not work
'ctest -V -E Python -E Star' <--- does not work

Build override

Hi all.

I don't know what Björn had done with libarchive3
(<a href="https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/rpms/libarchive3/" title="https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/rpms/libarchive3/">https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/rpms/libarchive3/</a>), since
this package is built on epel6 but retired on rawhide.
libarchive3 is a compatibility package for EPEL6, only.

If I wish to upgrade libarchive3, I should

build on rawhide
build on epel6 against rawhide
override the build on rawhide ?

Björn is not replying via mail, so please can anyone explain me how to do ?

Thanks.

libmp (gmp) conflicts

Hash: SHA256

Hi all,

gmp-4.3.1-10.el6 provides these libraries:

libgmp.so.3 -> libgmp.so.3.5.0
libgmp.so.3.5.0
libgmpxx.so.4 -> libgmpxx.so.4.1.0
libgmpxx.so.4.1.0
libmp.so.3 -> libmp.so.3.1.14
libmp.so.3.1.14

'libmp.so' from 'gmp' conflicts with same library provided by 'mp'
package that I wish to include on Epel6 repositories.

Is it reasonable for you splitting off libmp.so from 'gmp' in a
sub-package ?

-fstack-protector-strong vs -fstack-protector-all

Hash: SHA256

Hi all.

Since i started to rebuild my packages for hardened builds issue, I
discovered (until now) a couple of libraries that result without
"Canary protection" according to output of 'checksec' tool.
Of course, I verified that all optimization flags used in Fedora by
default were respected; as you know, we use '-fstack-protector-strong'
flag to check for buffer overflows, but some libraries like

libmozalloc.so in 'icecat'
<a href="https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1283307" title="https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1283307">https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1283307</a>

or

libmodplug/libtimidity in 'MOC' (RPM Fusion free)

seem to need be compiled with '-fstack-protector-
