Orphaned python-adns

Hi all.

I just orphaned python-adns. I don't need it and don't plan to maintain it. The last upstream release was in 2007 and it does not support Python3. Also it FTBFS in rawhide.

python-adns is required by transmission-remote-cli. Please consider removing the dependency, so that python-adns can be retired or please consider maintaining python-adns as well.

Regards,
Tomas

How to fix broken dependency in orphaned package that FTBFS in F24

Hi all.

We pushed an update for log4cplus in F24+ [1]. It is a rebase and one of the dependent packages is "pion-net". The problem is that pion-net does not build on F24+, which stops us from pushing update on F24 which would not break dependencies. There is an older build of pion-net in F24 from times when it was building just fine.

What should be the process here? Should we untag the package from F24 or should I ignore the broken dependency?

dnssec-trigger + GNOME + NetworkManager integration

Hi all.

I would like to start a new fresh discussion where we can hopefully
converge towards successful integration of default DNS resolver with
NetworkManager on Fedora Workstation (GNOME).

I think there are (at least) two major issues that need to be resolved:
- system-wide Captive Portal detection
- proper UI integration

How is dnssec-trigger integrated with NM
We use Unbound as local DNS resolver that does also DNSSEC validation.

Deprecation of ISC's DLV registry

Hi all.

I received a heads-up from ISC that they are planning to deprecate their
DLV registry (<a href="https://dlv.isc.org/" title="https://dlv.isc.org/">https://dlv.isc.org/</a>) in the future.

The use of ISC's DLV repository should be removed from any default configuration
to prevent any issues in the future. I'm aware only about BIND and Unbound servers
that use ISC's DLV in their default configuration in Fedora.

If you are aware of any other component, please file a bug and add it to the
tracking bug:

BIND 9.10 in rawhide

Hi all.

I updated BIND to the latest stable 9.10 version in rawhide,
as discussed here [1]. Feel free to try it out.

Bodhi policy for pushing updates to stable

Hi all.

When upgrading F20 to F21 using FedUp, some users had a problem
with some packages not being upgraded (e.g. [1]). The problem was
caused by broken update path F20 -> F21.

For example in wget's case I pushed updates for the same NVR in F20
and F21 with auto-karma.

planned bind-pkcs11 changes in F20+

Hello all.

I would like to inform everyone about changes I plan to do
in Fedora 20+ due to Bug 1097752 (Support for native PKCS#11
interface - needed by FreeIPA).

Currently there is a bind-pkcs11 package which includes
couple of utilities needed for working with PKCS#11.

- From the user feedback I got during the past year or so, utilities
from PKCS#11 didn't work much.

BIND 9.10.1 beta with seccomp functionality

Hello.

ISC is working on new BIND 9.10 release which includes the seccomp
functionality. It can be turned on by configuring BIND before build with
"--enable-seccomp".

ISC asked me to kindly ask Fedora community if they would be willing to
test it. Currently I'm working on rebasing BIND to 9.10 in rawhide.
However it is still not finished.

Retiring bind10 in F21+

Hi.

BIND10 project developed by ISC ended earlier this year [1]. Therefore
as of today I'm retiring the bind10 package from Fedora 21+. The DHCP
servers part is already submitted for package review in Fedora [2].
