libdav1d SONAME bump

Hello,

Dav1d 0.5.0 was published today and brings a SONAME bump from libdav1d.so.
2.0.0 to libdav1d.so.3.0.0.
I will be updating it next week on F31/32, consumers of these libraries
(ffmpeg, xine-lib, vlc) will need to rebuild their packages.

Requesting F31 branches

Hello,

What does this error means when requesting F31 branches:

<a href="https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/15093" title="https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/15093">https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/15093</a>

dav1d and aom SONAME bump

Hello,

Next week I will update dav1d to version 0.4.0 which includes a SONAME bump,
and will do a GIT snapshot of aom, whose library is unstable.

I will push these updates both on F31 and F30, so consumers of these libraries
(ffmpeg, xine-lib, vlc) will need to rebuild their packages on both release.

Best regards,

Robert-André

Looking for comaintainers for AV1 related stuff

Hello,

I'm very interested in AV1, the new royalty-free video codec developed by
Xiph, Google and others (<a href="https://aomedia.org/" title="https://aomedia.org/">https://aomedia.org/</a>).

I have packaged almost all project related to AV1:
- aom: <a href="https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/aom" title="https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/aom">https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/aom</a>

- rav1e: Not packaged yet but all Rust deps are in
- go-avif: Repo will be created soon

Maybe SVT-AV1 in the future: <a href="https://github.com/OpenVisualCloud/SVT-AV1" title="https://github.com/OpenVisualCloud/SVT-AV1">https://github.com/OpenVisualCloud/SVT-AV1</a>

I'm looking for comaintainers on these projects who are equally motivated by
AV1, so that if I'm unavailable, they will still be maintained in Fedora in

Fedora modularity and cyclic dependencies

Hi,

In Golang, we have a lot of cyclic dependencies for which we have to bootstrap
many packages, and then later build them unbootstrapped when all the deps are
in place.
How are we supposed to handle this in Modularity? Since it rebuilds all
packages from the start, it will fail to build cyclic deps. Is there a way to
turn on the --with bootstrap switch in Modularity?

How to bootstrap a set of packages?

Hello,

I'd like to bootstrap all Golang packages to be able to detect whatever cyclic
dependencies we have introduced over the years.
Basically what I need is to be able to build from the base rawhide (or Koji
latest) without any preexisting Go package, and slowly build the packages
iteratively, starting from a clean slate.
How can I achieve this? Is there a way to blacklist a set of packages from a
repo?

Golang review swaps

Hello folks,

In order to update a few Golang packages, new dependencies needing to
be packaged have appeared. Please, if you have time to help, take a look at
these.

Registering Python packages with Anitya and the "no-monitoring" option

Hello,

I have worked on my script to register packages with Anitya this week-end:
<a href="https://gist.github.com/eclipseo/fbc52aeebccb7f560221bd40ec28b6af" title="https://gist.github.com/eclipseo/fbc52aeebccb7f560221bd40ec28b6af">https://gist.github.com/eclipseo/fbc52aeebccb7f560221bd40ec28b6af</a>

It now handles all backend that Anitya supports.

I have ran it on Python 2661 packages and this resulted in 637 new packages
being registered. Michal Konecny still needs to do something for the new
hotness to pick them up.

However I already noticed that a large number of packages have set "no-
monitoring" in Pagure. A lot of that are old packages ported from pkgdb and it
seems it defaulted to "no-monitoring" back then.

Need volunteer for a Go review

Can anyone review:

This is the last piece I need to update rclone to 1.46.0, which was published
2 months ago already.

I'm available for any review in exchange.

Thanks,

Robert-André

Can someone do this quick Golang review please?

Hello,

I need a quick review of: <a href="https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1695371" title="https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1695371">https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1695371</a>

It's a standard Golang package, it builds in Koji.

I'm available for any swap in exchange.

Thanks,

Robert-André

Anitya not working again?

Hello,

Earlier this week, I wrote a script to check and add all Golang packages to
Anitya. Everything went smoothly, and dozens of packages were registered and
got their version retrieved.
Since our float of Golang packages is severely out of date, I was expecting a
load of new messages from Bugzilla. But niet, nada, zilch: no new bug were
filed as part of this process.
So is Anitya broken again?

New Golang Packaging Guidelines: Feedback needed and appreciated

Hello Fedora people,

As you may or may not know, currently applied Golang packaging guidelines
have always been simply a « draft ». Part of the new Go SIG mission is to
update ours best practices and tooling. As such, Nicolas Mailhot designed a
new set of macros based on lua script to improve our current situation.

Golang SIG primary goals?

Hey guys and gals,

Can we start to discuss this SIG goals?

Review swap, Perl flavored

Hello,

Today is my first year anniversary of contributing to Fedora, yay us!

I've just proposed a Perl program to review:

Mass rebuild, mass Golang packages failures

Hello,

Since the mass rebuild and maybe because of Golang 1.11 beta 1, all the Golang
package containing a binary fail because the debuginfo are not generated:

RPM build errors:
error: Empty %files file /builddir/build/BUILD/rclone-1.42/
debugsourcefiles.list
Empty %files file /builddir/build/BUILD/rclone-1.42/debugsourcefiles.list
Child return code was: 1

whereas it was working correctly before.

Has anyone any idea what is causing this and how it can be fixed?

Best regards,

Robert-André

Unannounced soname bump: toxcore

Hello,

I accidentally soname bumped toxcore from libtoxcore.so.2.2.0 to
libtoxcore.so.2.3.0. It was a minor patch release and I didn't anticipate the
soname change.

Affected package are utox and qtox (rpmfusion). They will be rebuilt shortly.

I don't expect anyone to be affected by it, since I'm the only maintainer of
the affected packages, but if you are please contact me.

Help needed for Reviews

Hello,

I have a few Golang and Python packages that need review, any help
appreciated.

Looking for volunteers to review Golang packages

Hello,

I'm looking for help to review a lot of Golang packages, 83 in total, that are
the results of unbundling rclone. They are made with the new standardized Go
packaging and should be fairly quick to review.

However there are a lot of inter dependents packages, sometimes circular, so I
would recommend the use of a custom mockconfig with fedora review containing
my rclone COPR to avoid any deps problem.
