Golang SIG primary goals?

Hey guys and gals,

Can we start to discuss this SIG goals?

Review swap, Perl flavored

Hello,

Today is my first year anniversary of contributing to Fedora, yay us!

I've just proposed a Perl program to review:

Bug 1610554 - (perl-Crypt-HSXKPasswd) Review Request: hsxkpasswd - Secure
memorable password generator
<a href="https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1610554" title="https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1610554">https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1610554</a>

Mass rebuild, mass Golang packages failures

Hello,

Since the mass rebuild and maybe because of Golang 1.11 beta 1, all the Golang
package containing a binary fail because the debuginfo are not generated:

RPM build errors:
error: Empty %files file /builddir/build/BUILD/rclone-1.42/
debugsourcefiles.list
Empty %files file /builddir/build/BUILD/rclone-1.42/debugsourcefiles.list
Child return code was: 1

whereas it was working correctly before.

Has anyone any idea what is causing this and how it can be fixed?

Best regards,

Robert-André

Unannounced soname bump: toxcore

Hello,

I accidentally soname bumped toxcore from libtoxcore.so.2.2.0 to
libtoxcore.so.2.3.0. It was a minor patch release and I didn't anticipate the
soname change.

Affected package are utox and qtox (rpmfusion). They will be rebuilt shortly.

I don't expect anyone to be affected by it, since I'm the only maintainer of
the affected packages, but if you are please contact me.

Help needed for Reviews

Hello,

I have a few Golang and Python packages that need review, any help
appreciated.

Looking for volunteers to review Golang packages

Hello,

I'm looking for help to review a lot of Golang packages, 83 in total, that are
the results of unbundling rclone. They are made with the new standardized Go
packaging and should be fairly quick to review.

However there are a lot of inter dependents packages, sometimes circular, so I
would recommend the use of a custom mockconfig with fedora review containing
my rclone COPR to avoid any deps problem.

Review swaps

Hello,

I'm looking for some help to review some Golang packages. These are all renamed packages to conform with the new Golang guidelines which standardizes package names.

Review swaps

Hello good folks,

A developer tasked me with packaging his small CLI tools so I have a few
reviews waiting. They are extremely trivial packages, often a simple Python
script or single C file.

Review swaps

Hello,

I have a handful of packages that I'd like to be reviewed.

Review swaps

Hello fellow packagers,

I'd like to ask your help for a handful of reviews.

Review swaps

Hello,

I've added a bunch of packages to review, I'll review yours in exchange of mine.
No Java or PHP packages as I'm not familiar with those.

Here is the list with each dependency:

Review swap

Hello,

Is anyone interested by a review swap? I'd like my package rclone [1] to be
reviewed (it's written in Golang). Except php and Java with which I'm not
familiar, I think I can handle anything else.

Best regards,

Robert-André

Display bug of programs using qt5-qtquickcontrols2 5.9.1

Hello,

On Fedora 27, the programs using qt5-qtquickcontrols2 do not display icon or
text at all.

There are very few programs using qt5-qtquickcontrols2, one of them is plasma-
dicover:

<a href="https://i.imgpile.com/n9ZG3C.png" title="https://i.imgpile.com/n9ZG3C.png">https://i.imgpile.com/n9ZG3C.png</a>

Notice the lack of caption on the "Install" buttons.

Another program that makes a heavy use of qt5-qtquickcontrols2 is Orion, a
Twitch client which I provide on COPR (<a href="https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/" title="https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/">https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/</a>

The interface doesn't contain any icon on the lateral bar or any text under
the pictures.

Curious build-id conflict while installing a package

Hello,

Golang packages snapshot versionning

Hello,

When packaging Golang librairies we often use development snapshots instead of
releases. In such case there is two conflicting guidelines regarding
versionning:

- the "main" Guidelines that says the version should be YYYYMMDD<scm><revision>
Cf: <a href="https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Versioning#Snapshots" title="https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Versioning#Snapshots">https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Versioning#Snapshots</a>

- the Go Draft Guidelines that says the vesrion should just be <scm><revision>
without any date.
Cf <a href="https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackagingDrafts/Go#Versions" title="https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackagingDrafts/Go#Versions">https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackagingDrafts/Go#Versions</a>

Which one supersedes the other?

I need your reviews

Hello,

After reviewing near 50 packages recently, I'd really like if anyone
could also review a few of my packages which are sitting around.
Of course, I'm open to review swaps, so if you have an old package that
have been waiting for a review too, please contact me.

Currently, I have waiting:

Introduction/looking for a sponsor

Hello,

My name is Robert-André and I'm looking to become a packager for Fedora.

I'm 33 years-old Frenchman. I first tried GNU/Linux in the late 90
with Debian and what was
then Mandrake. Back then with no Internet, I remember It was tough to
get set up and find
help. After a Windows period, I got back to Linux in 2005 with
Ubuntu's Hoary Hedgehog
release.
