The correct way is this i think

make makefiles CCARGS="-DUSE_TLS -DUSE_SASL_AUTH -DUSE_CYRUS_SASL \
    -I/usr/include/sasl" AUXLIBS="-L/usr/lib -lsasl2 -lssl -lcrypto"

Yes, as documented in:

<a href="http://www.postfix.org/SASL_README.html#sasl_support" title="http://www.postfix.org/SASL_README.html#sasl_support">http://www.postfix.org/SASL_README.html#sasl_support</a>

but with the libraries and headers in /usr rather than /usr/local.

The "-L/usr/lib" is not generally needed, but if your compiler looks
somewhere else first, and you don't want it to in this case, then
this is OK.
